WELFARE DIVISION RECORDS Records of the Welfare Division include the following series: Welfare Board Meetings. 1935-2002 6 cu. ft. Boxes: WELFARE-0002; WELFARE-0004 to WELFARE-0007. Meeting materials, including minutes. Welfare Board Correspondence 1949-2000 1 cu. ft. Box: WELFARE-0008 Welfare Board and Welfare Department Press Clippings 1937-1962 3 cu. ft. Boxes: WELFARE-0001, WELFARE-0003, WELFARE-0023 Welfare Division Administrator Records 1966-2002 10 cu. ft. Boxes: WELFARE-0009-WELFARE-0019. The Division administrator records include files on NOMADS (Nevada Operations of Multi Automated Data Systems) and TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) including the annual state plan. NOMADS was a massive project to convert paper records of welfare case files to electronic format. There are files of the Welfare Reform Task Force, correspondence with federal and state agencies, and executive staff meeting materials. In addition, there is correspondence with the Legislative Counsel Bureau and legislative files regarding bills requested by the Welfare Division. Welfare Deputy Administrator Records 1986-2000 3 cu. ft. Boxes: WELFARE-0020-WELFARE-0022. The Deputy Administrative records include files on caseload projections for the Division, files related to welfare reform, and correspondence regarding the Division’s budget. There is a State Archives in-house database which provides access to specific items in the collection. |
