Summary: Portrait of Thomas B. Rickey who was a member of the Nevada State Assembly from Douglas County in 1873, and was a member of the Nevada State Senate from Douglas County from 1875 to 1877, and from Ormsby County from 1891 to 1893.

Thomas Rickey was born in Ohio in 1836. His family came to California in 1852. Rickey came to Douglas County, Nevada in 1859. He was a rancher, and owned one of the largest ranches in Nevada in the 19th Century. Rickey was a member of the Nevada State Assembly in 1873, representing Douglas County. He represented the same county in the Nevada State Senate from 1875 to 1877, and Rickey represented Ormsby County in the Senate from 1891 to 1893. Later he became president of the State Bank and Trust Company in Carson City. He and his wife sold for ten dollars to the state land to build the Nevada Governor's Mansion.
