1.  Nevada Literacy Office (NLO)

The Nevada Literacy Office (NLO) supports the efforts of non-profit state, county, and local literacy improvement programs for Nevadans.  Its focus is to ensure that educationally disadvantaged adults have equitable access to information and materials.

The NLO supports literacy improvement through information and referral, consultation and technical assistance, resource sharing, training, collaborative planning, and advocacy.  The NLO operates a State Literacy Resource Center, which lends print, electronic, and audio-visual materials to programs throughout the state.  The Center contains information on such topics as: Adult Basic Education (ABE), Family Literacy, ESL/Citizenship, Literacy Information, Health Literacy, Financial Literacy, Volunteer Tutoring, and Workplace Literacy.

2.  The Nevada State Data Center (NSDC)

The NSDC was established in 1982 as a service of the Nevada State Library and Archives. The products the Center houses contain abundant numerical facts regarding almost every facet of American life. Throughout the state, affiliate organizations located in county and city planning departments, government agencies, libraries, colleges, or similar organizations provide localized assistance and services to data users. The NSDC also provides a consulting and training function. With the help of the Regional Census Office in Denver, the Center conducts workshops to train users on Census Bureau products.
