The State Treasurer was required to track payments made by individuals purchasing state lands, under the provisions of the State Land Law of 1871. This series of Abstracts of Deposits provides the following information for each entry: contract number, date, name of contractee, description of the land (physical location by township and range), number of acres, price per acre, amount deposited, amount of deposit refunded, and remarks. Arranged in chronological order.
