Washoe ValleyThe records of the Virginia and Gold Hill Water Company consist of 4 cubic feet and date from 1860-1940, with bulk dates of 1860-1900.  They were transferred to the Nevada State Archives by the State Division of Buildings and Grounds.  The records had little arrangement when received by the Archives other than groupings of documents folded into envelopes, some with brief labels.  They have been arranged into the following series:

Records of the Attorney General Containing Water Company Materials
The Case File and Correspondence series of the Nevada State Attorney General records contain files about lawsuits in which the Marlette Lake Company was a party; and agency correspondence, in this case, the Public Service Commission, regarding the water company.  Included are letters, deeds, contracts and other materials.
