These data are an update and edit of a Nevada Historical Society publication "Population of Nevada Counties & Communities 1860-1980" by Waller H. Reed, 1984.

For 1860 the data are from Utah Territory and has been reported by Mr. Reed "in the eventual nine counties that were established by the Territorial Legislature in 1861." The 1860 chart also includes the three Utah counties of Carson, Humboldt, and Saint Mary's.
