College of DuPage Teleconferences College of DuPage teleconferences are sponsored by NSLA on a statewide basis. Sites vary with the yearly program and are listed on the CE Calendar at http://206.194.194.122/evanced/lpd/eventcalendar.asp. An evaluation is requested from each participant to determine the value of the series and individual programs. Please refer to the CE Calendar listing of the individual teleconference for a link to the current evaluation form.

Nevada Library Institute The Nevada Library Institute exists to provide opportunities for learning, mentoring and developing skills to promote the personal and professional growth of the Nevada library community. The Institute is a tool for nurturing both degreed and non-degreed individuals in the library community.

Summer Reading Program Workshop Materials and training are provided to support a Statewide Summer Reading Program. The program is a cooperative effort among Nevada's public libraries and the Nevada State Library and Archives. Contact the literacy program at 775-684-3340 further information.

Trustee Training A trustee training programs are sponsored by the State Library in cooperation with the Nevada Libraries Continuing Education Committee. Workshops provide basic training on roles and responsibilities of trustees including legal authority, fiscal responsibility, personnel, policies and procedures, strategic planning and library advocacy. Certification Program This program is targeted to employees of Nevada public libraries serving a population under 50,000 and public libraries which do not have a person with the MLS performing duties as administrator, reference, and children's librarian. It applies only to public libraries in Nevada. It is not applicable to people who hold a master's degree in library science from an ALA accredited institution.

Travel To Training This LSTA travel stipend (transportation, meals and lodging) is for public library staff, trustees, and staff from libraries providing service to the public to attend training events that are more than 50 miles from their library. Contact Holly Van Valkenburgh at 775-684-3322 or

CE Registration Fee Program
Continuing education events in Nevada often require registration fees. To provide library staff and trustees equal opportunities for educational opportunities, LSTA funds will be utilized for registration fees. The registration fee must be used for physical attendance at trainings within the state of Nevada or for online trainings.
